The closest airport is Catania (CTA). Flights from Bristol arrive every Monday and Friday, and there are daily flights from London.
Getting there
Travel
We know it's a big commitment to come away for our wedding, so here's everything we can to make the journey easy.
Hire car
The villa is around a 40 minute drive from the airport. In most cases we'd recommend renting a car and finding people to share the cost with. Parking is available at the villa.
Bus & train
Public transport runs straight to Taormina station from Catania. Buses and trains cost roughly £5–£7 and take just over an hour.
Taxis & transfers
Taxis are the easiest way to get to and from the wedding if you're not driving. A taxi between the villa and Taormina is around €40 each way, so it's worth sharing one.

Parking in Sicily
Know your lines
- Blue lines — You need to pay.
- Yellow lines — Residents only — don't park here.
- White lines — Free parking.
- ZTL zones — Restricted traffic zones — do not enter, the fines arrive months later.
Download and set up a parking app before you travel — EasyPark is the one to get. In Taormina there's a main multistorey car park that's cheap and easy.
Driving to the venue
Directions to The Lemon Tree
From Catania: exit the A18 motorway toll at Giardini Naxos and follow signs to Taormina. You'll travel through Giardini Naxos on the SS114 and naturally join the coastal road with the sea on your right. Drive until you no longer see the coast, pass under the train bridge and look for signs on your left for "MASTRISSA" and Taormina. You're now on the Via Crocefisso (the road to the main hospital). Take the left turn towards Mastrissa, follow it until you see the sign for The Lemon Tree, drive under the motorway bridge and start the 2km uphill journey to the villa.
From Messina: exit the A18 at Taormina, take the coastal road SS114 with the sea on your left for around 4km, and after the Q8 garage take the right turn following signs for Mastrissa — this leads onto the Via Crocefisso.
Important: after leaving the motorway at Giardini, don't follow your sat nav to The Lemon Tree. It picks the shortest route, which is a single country lane that isn't suitable or safe for cars.
